Speech Therapy

We provide speech and language therapy for a variety of needs.  We have clinical experience and evidence-based training in the following areas:

  • Speech deficits resulting from phonological disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (Kaufman Methods (K-SLP) trained), and articulation delays

  • Fluency deficits including stuttering and cluttering

  • Expressive and receptive language deficits resulting from developmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, behavioral disorders and trauma, Cerebral Palsy, developmental delays, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, and Williams Syndrome

  • Written language deficits resulting from dyslexia, dysgraphia, and general reading and writing disorders (Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing (LiPS) trained)

  • Pragmatic language deficits secondary to disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, behavioral disorders, and Social Communication Disorder

  • Voice disorders including polyps/nodules and anatomical weaknesses/deficits

  • Feeding and swallowing disorders including anatomical weaknesses and deficits or behavioral challenges

 

Assistive Technology

We also offer assistive technology services focused on language, literacy, and access, including:

  • Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs, ranging from low-tech picture communication systems to high-tech speech-generating devices

    • We utilize a feature matching process to match AAC users’ needs with a range of appropriate systems, keeping long-term growth in mind

    • We have experience with a wide variety of systems, including both dedicated devices such as PRC, Saltillo, and Tobii Dynavox systems, and a variety of app-based AAC options such as Proloquo2Go, TouchChat, LAMP Words for Life, Grid, GoTalk Now, Snap+Core First, Proloquo4Text, and Verbally

  • Assistive technology needs for reading comprehension, written expression, and technology access

A variety of consulting services are also available, including:

  • Parent Trainings

    • Certified Hanen It Takes Two to Talk® provider in-person or via telepractice

    • As-needed assistive technology evaluations, consultation, and services for communication, reading, writing, and technology access

      • Accessibility training customized to your existing technology supports

      • Recommendations for expanding technology supports
